  • Primary Function

    Responsible for independently rendering advice, take action, and ensure compliance with environmental assessment requirements. To actively support and uphold the Company’s stated vision, mission, and values.

    Essential Functions

    • Tracks and Coordinates environmental issues to include, but not limited to:
      • Burn pits, incinerators, medical waste, air sampling, ash sampling
      • Waste management, recycling, balers
      • Hazardous Waste, hazardous materials
      • Drinking Water, water wells
      • Wastewater, lagoons, waste water treatment plants
    • Responsible for ensuring compliance in all task order Safety requirements in the approved Accident Prevention Plan
    • Manages and coordinates with assigned Environmental Specialists, as necessary
    • Evaluates the effectiveness of ongoing environmental protection activities and propose new and/or revised processes or activities as required, or as applicable
    • Evaluates the continuing need for balances between the most desirable application of engineering principles and the demands of costs, priorities, schedules, and supporting assets
    • Plans, coordinates, evaluates, and reviews all phases of assigned environmental protection program/project control including the interpretation of and compliance with applicable criteria, regulations, policies, and procedures
    • Establishes, maintains and supports contract development to ensure compliance with environmental policy, guidance, & Standard Operating Procedures

    Job Requirements

    • Must have a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in hazardous materials management/response to hazardous materials incidents and corrective actions
    • Experience in supervision and management of technical personnel preferred
    • Must have 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER and current 8-Hour Annual HAZWOPER Refresher (if applicable)
    • Must have OSHA 8-hour On-Scene Incident Command Certification
    • Must be able to pass a detailed background investigation at a frequency as required by contract
    • Intermediate user level of computer systems, Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), database applications, and documentation control systems
    • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate company practices with executives, clients, and employees
    • Must possess valid passport
    • Must be fluent in speaking and writing the English Language
    • Must have valid driver's license
    • Must be able to pass an OSHA physical in accordance with contract requirements
    • Must be able to meet the physical requirements dictated by project requirements
    • Must have a valid and current Security Clearance
    • If former military, must have received an honorable discharge
    • Ability to identify problems, suggest solutions and react to change with a high degree of attention to detail
    • Must have experience in applicable safety standards
    • Preferred certifications to include:
      • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
      • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
