Primary Function

Responsible for in-country K-9 supervision of task order. Actively supports and upholds the Company’s stated vision, mission, and values.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for K-9 training in odor detection and for establishing a training and certification regime to ensure K-9 units are able to respond to the explosive odors contained in AXO/IEDs and other devices expected to been countered in the host nation, including home-made explosives (HME)
  • Maintain the readiness of each of the K-9 Handlers
  • Observe each K-9 Team in the field to ensure adherence to operating procedures and proper action within the search
  • Manage K-9 health by ensuring medical care, feeding, proper exercise, kennel maintenance, and related activities 

Job Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of three years of experience operating with explosive detecting K-9s in Iraq, Afghanistan, or other conflict areas
  • Should possess accreditation by the national Mine Action Center, as required
  • Must have experience in all canine related equipment
  • Must have experience in basic canine emergency first-aid as needed
  • Ability to work in a remote and potentially austere location
  • Must possess valid passport
  • Must be available to work outside the normal schedule when dictated by needs of the company
  • Ability to work in harsh working conditions, outdoors, and/or in extreme temperatures
  • Must be willing to deploy OCONUS
  • Must be able to pass a detailed background investigation at a frequency as required by contract
  • Must be able to pass a physical approving candidate for overseas work
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements dictated by project requirements
