  • Primary Function

    Manages the purchasing and forecasting functions.  Oversee the day-to-day activities of the Procurement personnel.  Actively supports and upholds the Company’s stated vision, mission and values.

    Essential Functions

    • Manages all purchasing activities, needs forecasting, and procurement
    • Works closely with business proposal teams on materials pricing and acquisition
    • Maintain relationships with vendors and monitor performance
    • Manage and/or negotiate strategic pricing strategies and stocking programs for all Janus projects and sites
    • Accountable for the maintenance, development, and implementation of Janus' Procurement documents to include plans, work instructions, forms, standard operating procedures, and training
    • Responsible for educating the workforce on all procurement-related matters
    • Lead, develop, train, and supervise department personnel
    • Track and report on Procurement metrics to add value to the purchasing process
    • Manage the maintenance of vendor information, including business size, performance and qualifications of each vendor
    • Meet with vendors to control backorders, improve or maintain on-time delivery, prevent or solve problems, and share forecasts
    • Oversee the Purchase Order Requisition (POR) process

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelors degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent relevant work experience
    • At least ten (10) years experience in purchasing/procurement
    • At least five (5) years of management experience
    • Working knowledge of the FAR, DFARS, and CAS
    • Experience working with regulators to obtain a CPSR compliant purchasing process
    • Professional certification preferred
    • Intermediate user level of computer systems, Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), Deltek Costpoint or similar accounting system, database applications, and documentation control systems
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Must be able to pass a detailed background investigation
    • Ability to identify problems, suggest solutions and react to change with a high degree of attention to detail
    • Ability to gain internal support and to operate independently without supervision
    • Ability to establish working relationships with customers, other companies, and all personnel within the organization
    • Must act with high ethical values and uphold corporate philosophy and confidentiality
    • Ability to work outside normal work hours including weekends with short notice when dictated by work load
    • Ability to routinely travel away from primary work location in excess of normal work day
    • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
