  • Primary Function

    Supervise all cost related accounting areas including accounts payable, cash logs, payroll, and general ledger for parent corporation and all subsidiaries.  Provide intermediate accounting support by performing a variety of accounting duties involving account reconciliations, account analysis, and proposing general journal entries for general ledger adjustments. Actively support and uphold the Company’s stated vision, mission, and values.

    Essential Functions

    • Review and post vouchers and journal entries related to accounts payable and cash logs
    • Provide training and supervision to all accounting, accounts payable, and payroll staff
    • Perform the transfer pricing and intercompany reconciliation process to ensure these processes are correctly administered with the appropriate documentation
    • Work with other departments in providing data from the general ledger system for appropriate analysis and reconciliation by those departments
    • Develop, direct, plan, and evaluate general accounting, accounts payable, and payroll policies and procedures
    • Reconcile processed work by comparing detailed system reports to general ledger balances
    • Maintain accounting ledgers by preparing and submitting journal entries
    • Assist with due diligence for acquisitions and mergers
    • Primary interface for benefit plan audits
    • Assist with monthly results reporting
    • Interface with local, state, federal, and foreign taxing authorities
    • Support creation of tax returns (local, state, federal, and foreign) through creation of schedules and reconciliations required; primary responsibility for preparation of tax reporting package required by external tax accountants
    • Perform research on various accounting topics, as needed
    • Develop work instructions for new processes; review and maintain all work instructions as needed
    • Maintain statutory and management structures in order to be able to produce reports as needed
    • Produce payroll and vendor reports for management and external reporting as needed
    • Maintain historical records by scanning manual documents and filing both electric and manual documents
    • Demonstrate proper discretion in dealing with sensitive and highly confidential information
    • Maintain organized, neat, and safe work area
    • Develop and maintain professional relationships with all levels of management and coworkers
    • Provide backup support for other accounting team members including the Assistant Controller

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or business degree
    • Must have over five (5) years of accounting experience at a similar level, preferably with knowledge of government contractor accounting and multi-currency environments
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
    • Must have extensive experience in processing payroll in addition to payroll supervisory experience
    • Ability to work outside standard work hours at short notice when dictated by work load
    • Strong knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations, specifically including cost segregation and unallowable expenses
    • Competent in verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to communicate company practices with senior executives, vendors, contractors, and company employees
    • Advanced user level of Excel, including graphics, pivot tables, V Lookups, and downloading data from external sources such as the General Ledger, Asset Management software, Time & Expense software, HRIS system, and others as needed
    • Deltek Costpoint Accounting system experience desired
    • Ability to take voluminous data and present easy to understand reports
    • Must be able to follow detailed instructions in oral or written form
    • Must be able to pass a detailed background investigation
    • Must be able to function effectively in a normal office environment
    • Strong written and oral presentation skills
